Moores Peak
Elevation 5910'
A quick hike on the edge of the Soldier Mountains

Moores Peak is located on the southwest edge of the central Idaho’s Soldier Mountains. Not sure if there’s another name for this one, but it’s located just south of Moores Flat. This little peak can be done anytime year-round since its right next to the Pine-Featherville Road. I parked just north of the peak, on High Prairie Road, and enjoyed a leisurely 2 mile round trip hike.

I was on my way to bigger adventures, and figured Moores Peak would make for a good leg stretcher. Long pants recommend on the approach, sagebrush is scratchy.

Bird on a rock near the summit. This scramble section can be avoided. :)

Summit view looking north. It would have been nice to stay and enjoy the views for awhile, but I had places to be.

Map of my route. About 2 miles and 400' elevation gain round trip, in a leisurely 45 minutes of hiking.
